The Expeditioner
A man of purpose, Tim is on a forever mission to connect in new and meaningful ways — with people, with experiences, and with the world. He once took part in the 75th anniversary commemorations of D-Day, recreating an airborne mission by parachuting in a full replica kit from a Dakota aircraft onto the city of Caen in Northern France. He also mixes purpose and adventure through the nonprofit he founded, RowZambezi, where he leads long-distance rowing expeditions to raise money for coaching, conservation, and clean water. The rowers — comprising young Zambians and Olympians alike — navigate past hippos, crocodiles, and elephants on journeys as long as 1000 kilometers. His most memorable trek of all; however, must be the time he ascended Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, to propose to his wife.
Experience is one thing you can't get for nothing. Oscar Wilde
As a partner at Acertitude, Tim leads executive search assignments across multiple sectors and in many parts of the world. He is highly specialized in IT and cyber security leadership, having recently completed CIO, CTO, CISO, and CSO searches as well as cyber assessments in different geographies and jurisdictions including the U.S. and Europe.
Tim invented a maturity model for cyber security leadership called the CIRO Maturity Model™ to help organizations and individuals understand what good looks like in IT and cyber leadership that has been widely used internationally in search and assessment assignments. Tim combines this with psychometric data to help clients, and individuals, benchmark their cyber teams for succession planning and development purposes.
Tim has 20 years of executive search and assessment experience, covering both Egon Zehnder and Russell Reynolds Associates, where he co-led the Global Cyber and CIO Practices. Tim has also worked in the defense sector with Fujitsu Services, been a CEO of a scientific software company, and served in the Armed Forces. Tim has a degree in English Literature, an MBA from London Business School, and an MSc from UCL.
Outside the office, Tim splits his time between Windsor, Southwest France, and the occasional adventure or two. His curiosities also extend to searching for the perfect Minervois wine, cold beer, and Spotify playlist. A family man, he is happily married with four children.
