JJ’s intense curiosity about people has been a consistent thread in his life and manifests in his affinity for autobiographies, long form podcasts, and documentaries. Consequently, his passion behind leadership and team dynamics has been the driving force of his career. Known for his willingness to offer a helping hand and share a quick laugh to uplift team morale, he understands the essence of a well-oiled team – one with complementary skills, a willingness to celebrate victory and band together through adversity, and a growth mindset. His guiding principle in this business is that trusting, lasting relationships with clients and colleagues are the key ingredient to sustainable success.

JJ serves as a principal in our Technology Practice. He specializes in providing Board, CEO, and GTM executive search and leadership advisory services (e.g., assessment, team effectiveness) to investor-backed companies. He is a key member of the firm’s Private Equity Practice and brings particular expertise in Venture Studios.
With over a decade of experience spanning finance, executive search, and the PE/VC sector, his background includes working with clients ranging from seed stage businesses to public companies, each with the shared goal of appointing top tier leaders capable of steering performance and nurturing teams.
Prior to joining Acertitude, JJ was a director of talent at Juxtapose, an investment firm focused on building new companies in the technology and healthcare space. He ran CEO searches for new businesses and collaborated closely with portfolio CEOs to build their leadership teams. His role extended to advising portfolio companies on organizational design, onboarding, culture building, and performance management. Earlier, JJ spent over five years at Spencer Stuart, specializing in executive recruitment in the TMT/CEO practice and leadership advisory services, focusing on executive assessment and development, leadership succession, team effectiveness, and organizational culture across industries.
Outside of the office, you can find JJ spending time with his family and staying active with cycling, running, or golf. He is also passionate about mentoring young people around topics such as navigating high school/college and planting the seeds for their career path.
