Q&A with Emily
1. Tell us about your career path here. How did you find yourself at Acertitude and why did you join the firm?
After graduating with a degree in Business and Economics from the University of Exeter, I decided to pursue a career in executive search, initially joining a boutique firm specialising in financial services.
I subsequently joined Acertitude, as I was attracted to working for a firm that had a global reach and the subsequent opportunities that would give me, alongside the prospect of contributing to a company with a growing presence in Europe and ambitious plans for growth over the coming years.
2. Describe a day in your life. Favorite parts of your job?
A typical day revolves around managing multiple searches across professional services whilst collaborating with consultants and researchers. One of my favorite parts is the opportunity to delve into an array of topics that are not only interesting, but also extremely relevant today, such as artificial intelligence and value creation. Moreover, it also allows me to work across a myriad of industries, ranging from Life Sciences to Consumer & Retail. I appreciate the diversity, since it keeps my work stimulating and allows me to develop a well-rounded perspective.
Building and maintaining relationships in the industry is another aspect that I deeply enjoy, whether it’s fostering connections with current candidates or expanding my broader network.
3. What is special about working here?
What makes working here truly special is the collaborative, dynamic, and enjoyable working environment alongside the opportunities and challenges that are presented to me every day. I am surrounded by a team of talented individuals who not only challenge me to push myself, but also support me to continuously expand my skills and knowledge. The emphasis on development means that I am always encouraged to pursue new opportunities for growth.

Throughout, it has allowed me to build an extensive professional network across Europe, and more recently, the U.S.
5. In what ways - big or small - do you live out our mission of unleashing human potential?
I actively contribute to fostering the collaborative and enjoyable environment we have and embrace every opportunity that comes my way as a chance to learn, grow, and make an impact. I always capitalize on the opportunity to take on new challenges, work in new areas, or step outside my comfort zone. In addition, I enjoy supporting the growth and development of newer team members, whether it be imparting my knowledge, offering constructive feedback, or sharing insights from my own experiences.
6. What advice do you have for people looking to join Acertitude? What qualities do people need to be successful here?
They should demonstrate a genuine eagerness to expand their knowledge and skills. Given the need to manage multiple projects and stakeholders continuously, efficiency and strong organizational skills are essential. It is also important to add to the collaborative environment, and actively seek opportunities to support your colleagues to contribute positively to the team culture.
