Q&A with Connor

1. Tell us about your career path here. How did you find yourself at Acertitude and why did you join the firm?

My entire career has been dedicated to executive search. After graduating college, I began as a research associate at a leading search firm. In 2020, Acertitude approached me with an opportunity in their Technology practice, which was a new and exciting field for me.

Acertitude's commitment to professional development was obvious and provided a clear path for advancement, which was crucial as I wanted to make executive search my career. Since joining the firm, I have taken on much greater responsibility for search execution, supported by the mentorship of the partners and my peers. Working with our diverse public and private equity clients has provided broader exposure to the business world in and of itself.

2. Describe a day in your life. Favorite parts of your job?

As a senior associate, I lead the research and candidate qualification process, collaborating with analysts and research associates to pinpoint top talent in the market. This involves extensive market mapping and candidate outreach to determine who should be introduced to the client. In coordination with our project management team, I oversee all client deliverables, including updating reports and candidate scorecards.

The highlight of my role is engaging daily with executives who are prominent leaders in their fields.

3. What is special about working here?

Our clients set high standards, and meeting them, with the support and empowerment of my colleagues, has been an incredible growth journey.

5. In what ways - big or small - do you live out our mission of unleashing human potential?

There is immense satisfaction in matching outstanding candidates with the right opportunities. Even in smaller ways, simply making the right connection or introduction can dramatically change a person's career beyond the assignments we complete.

6. What advice do you have for people looking to join Acertitude? What qualities do people need to be successful here?

Executive search is not an easy field. It requires a lot of determination and resiliency. You will need to be prepared to learn from mistakes and get back up.
