Partnership with leading executive search firm results in significant chief information officer appointment for $21 billion global IT services giant DXC

NEW YORK (Feb.18, 2020) — Acertitude, the executive search firm unleashing human potential, has recruited Chris Drumgoole as executive vice president and chief information officer for DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), the world’s leading independent end-to-end IT services company. The Fortune 500 company helps 6,000 private and public-sector customers in 70 countries harness the power of innovation to thrive on change.

Drumgoole, who until his resignation was chief information officer at GE, will report to DXC’s President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Salvino. Collaborating closely with Salvino and CHRO Mary Finch, Acertitude Co-Founder and Managing Partner Kevin O’Neill, Partner Geoff Votta, and the rest of the Acertitude team drove this search to successful completion in only 88 days.

“We’re pleased to add someone with the experience and capabilities Chris brings,” Salvino said in a press release. “In his role as CIO, Chris will deploy the same core capabilities that DXC delivers for its clients. In doing this, he will showcase the advantages of a focused strategy based on DXC’s enterprise technology stack – and the impact it can have on customers, people and operational execution.”

Drumgoole will lead DXC’s global IT strategy and operations, helping the company meet and exceed the technology needs of its customers. He will head a team responsible for running DXC’s technology operations, integrating and streamlining systems, and implementing new digital capabilities to improve performance and efficiency. His team also will ensure the security and stability of DXC’s global IT infrastructure.

“I’m excited to join a team that’s committed to digital technologies that can bring performance, efficiency, and security to DXC and its customers,” Drumgoole said. “I look forward to making our IT operation a case study for what can be accomplished through strategic insight and innovation across the technology stack.”

Drumgoole has more than 20 years of experience in the digital and IT industry, including significant technology work for the U.S. government.

As CIO at General Electric, Drumgoole led the company’s global technology operations, including applications, infrastructure, and related shared services; he also served as chief technology officer at GE. Drumgoole joined GE from Verizon, where he served as chief operating officer of Verizon’s Terremark subsidiary, a cloud, hosting, and data center provider. He joined Verizon through its acquisition of Terremark, where he served as a member of the executive leadership team.

As rapid adoption of digital technologies and rising tech spend continue to shape the IT services industry, a successful CIO is a business imperative. To connect DXC with a world-class IT leader like Drumgoole, the Acertitude team took extreme ownership. Everyone involved committed to understanding DXC’s culture and business strategy intimately, bringing the company’s message to market, and using its proven scorecard framework to vet and put forward people destined to make a difference.

“Chris Drumgoole is an extraordinary technology executive and the DXC ecosystem is tailor made for a leader of his caliber to shine and deliver outstanding results,” O’Neill said. “We are delighted to have played a part in putting DXC together with this brilliant leader.”
