NEW YORK (June 14, 2023) — Acertitude, the executive search firm unleashing human potential, has recruited James Christl as the new chief financial officer of SVP Worldwide, the world’s largest consumer sewing machine company, accounting for approximately one out of every three sewing machines sold annually, globally. Backed by global investment firm Platinum Equity, the company’s iconic products are sold across 180 internally operated retail stores to consumers in over 180 countries.

Christl is a growth-oriented financial leader, seasoned in value creation and strategic planning. As both a CEO and serial CFO with over 20+ years in the consumer sector, he brings deep knowledge of finance, accounting, sales, marketing and operational experience to his new role, along with experience in restructuring, international expansion, capital events, and M&A. As CFO, Christl will further propel SVP Worldwide forward in an industry that is experiencing a growth renaissance.

The CFO search was completed in a rapid 43 days. Kevin O’Neill, co-founder, managing partner, and leader of Acertitude’s Consumer practice, led the search together with Dan Staats, principal, who specializes in CFO work within the Consumer and Private Equity sectors.

Prior to joining SVP Worldwide, Christl acted as the CEO and CFO of personal care product manufacturing giant, Jafra Cosmetics International, and held CFO roles at Cole Haan, PVH Corp., and Technicolor, SA. He is also a board member at Thermomix USA, and a financial advisor at Vorwerk SE & Co. KG.
